Exam Board: AQA

The physics course is divided into 8 topics plus one optional topic. Each topic encompasses the relevant practical skills.

Optional topics include: astrophysics, medical physics, engineering physics, turning points in physics, electronics

It is essential that students who opt to study A-level physics also study mathematics A-level. The study of physics also supports work in mathematics and chemistry.

Requirements

Sixth Form entry requirements and a grade 5 or above in GCSE mathematics, grade 5 or above in all three separate sciences or grade 6 in science trilogy.

Where can it lead?

Physics is the basis for a wide range of degree level subject including astrophysics, electrical and mechanical engineering, medicine, particle physics, nanotechnology and many more.
