<h2>Chemistry</h2><p>Exam Board: AQA</p><p>The chemistry course is divided into three sections, with each encompassing the relevant practical skills.</p>

 <li>Component 1: physical chemistry bonding, thermodynamics, kinetics and equilibria.</li>
 <li>Component 2: inorganic chemistry periodicity, electrochemistry and study of the transition metals.</li>
 <li>Component 3: organic chemistry studying the reactions of various homologous series, organic synthesis and chemical analysis.</li>
</ul>

<p>The chemistry course has a large practical element with a minimum of twelve required practical tasks throughout the two year course.</p>

<p>Chemistry can be combined with any other subjects but goes particularly well with physics, mathematics, biology and geography.</p><h3>Assessment</h3><p>100% exam</p><h3>Requirements</h3><p>Sixth Form entry requirements and a grade 5 or above in&nbsp;GCSE&nbsp;mathematics, grade 5 or above in all three separate sciences or grade 6 in science trilogy.​</p><h3>Where can it lead?</h3><p>Chemistry is the basis for a wide range of degree level subject including traditional chemistry based topics of medicine, dentistry, midwifery, veterinary courses, environmental science, natural science and forensics.</p>
